Abstract

Fixed-chamber apparatus.-A float dlevice is fitted to a petrol or other liquid measuring-device to prevent the introduction of further liquid into the measuring-container whilst a delivery is taking place. Fig. 1 shows a device designed for an apparatus wherein the distributing-mechanism is controlled by a spindle 11 operated by a lever or handle 12. The spindle 11 carries fingers 13, one of which raises a catch 14 engaging the lip 15 of a handle 16 which controls the rod 17 of the distribution cock. When this cock is opened, and liquid is fowing through the delivery pipe 4 the float 8 moves a pivoted stop 22, against which will then abut the end of a rod 19 which normally may slide through the eye 20 as the spindle 11 is rotated. The spindle 11 is therefore locked. Fig. 2 shows a modification in which the float 8 is shown raised and the lever is engaging a notched disc 26 and locking the distribution control spindle 25. In another modification a lever such as the lever 28 has on its end a pin which enters a recess in a distributplug cock, and locks it. The float chamber may be formed on an enlargement of the delivery pipe 4. Specifications 191,011, 249,844, 255,687 and 266,295 are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) referred to the adaptation of the invention to apparatus with two measuring- containers. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
