270,178. Crosby, J. Dec. 1, 1926. Thermometers.-In a thermometer, particularly for use by bakers to determine the temperature of dough &c., and of the kind in which the thermometer tube is bent to form a vertical part a to be inserted in the dough and a horizontal part b supported by a disc c resting on the surface of the dough, the part a of the thermometer tube is surrounded by a sheath d of metal such as aluminium which is secured at its upper end to the disc c. At its lower end the sheath is closed by a screw cap f containing mercury h which is retained by a plug g of cork &c. The space above the plug between the tube a and sheath d is filled with wax &c.
