Abstract

269,999. Cable, J. L. Feb. 2, 1926. Seating cushions, securing in position.-A seat bottom or seat back comprises a U-shaped frame 6 of semi-tubular metal with its open side facing inwards and forming a continuously extending recess, and a plate 12 having an edge flange 13 extending about three sides thereof and adapted to be fitted against the bottom of said recess and to be slid therein from the open side of the frame, said plate being adapted to receive a covering 16 for the upholstery 17 which cover is extended over the flange and is secured thereto, means being provided for holding the plate in the recess. A reversely bent flange 14, 15 may be provided on one edge of the plate 12, to secure one edge of the cover 16 and to form a strengthening rib for the plate.
