Abstract

269,485. Heintz, G. W. April 16, 1926, [Conventioit date]. Dog - racing apparatus. - In a race course for dogs, an artificial lure 16, Fig. 1, is mounted on a horizontally rotatable arm 17 carried bv a truck 21 which travels within a housing 18 extending round a track 10, preferably on the inside. The arm 17 extends through a slot in the housing and is retracted within the housing by a spring 36, Fig. 3, when a trip member 41 engages the foot of a pivoted lever 33, Fig. 4, and thereby withdraws the upper end from a slot 31. in disc 27 secured to the arm 17. A portion of the housing 18 above the slot is hinged to allow of the passage of the lure. The trip member 41 is mounted on links 42 and can be moved into and out of the path of the lever 33 by flexible members 45, 46 operated from a control tower 14. Races may be started from extensions 12 of the track.
