Abstract
263,446. Sachs, G. Sept. 6, 1926. Animals; mechanical toys.-A toy hare is provided with means for laying eggs and simultaneously moving the ears and eye-lids. As shown, the hollow body of the hare contains a shoot 19 and a clockwork mechanism 2. The shoot is filled from its upper end with Easter eggs, which are allowed to drop one at a time from the lower end by means of a slowly rotating, toothed wheel 17, the teeth 18 of which project into the shoot. A cam-wheel 7, Fig. 2, mounted on the spindle of the toothed Wheel, is adapted to move a rod 10 upwardly and thereby cause the ears 13 to move backwardly, and the eye-lids 16 to cover the eyes, as an egg is laid. A tail 20, freely pivoted to the body, is moved as the eggs drop. The mechanism may be arrested by a stop 24 adapted to engage the teeth 18 of the wheel 17.
