Abstract
452,448. Animal traps. PEARCY, A., Little Watchcombe, Shute, Axminster, Devon. Feb. 22, 1935, No. 5747. [Class 5 (i)] When a rabbit or other animal treads on a platform 1, a catch 6 is released, and a frame 10 carrying a chain surrounding the platform is moved upwardly by a spring-actuated lever 14 engaging beneath a part 12 of the frame. The continued upward movement of the lever 14 frees it from the frame and tightens the noose against a guide 13 for the chain 20 which passes over a pin 18 on the lever 14 and is secured at 21 to the frame 3 of the trap. The upward movement of the frame is limited by a chain 19, while a projection 8 on the catch 6 is provided for holding the frame in a partially-raised position for setting purposes.
