Abstract

202,081. Lever, H. E. May 22, 1922. Animal traps.-A vermin trap of the break-back type comprises a break-back bar D having a cranked portion E acted upon by a spring G anchored to the base A at one end of a recess cut in the base for the passage of a catch-piece F pivoted at M and a bait lever H pivoted at J. This lever is also pivoted to the catch-piece at L. To set the trap, the bar D is raised so that the crank E strikes a portion P of the catch-piece, and causes the latter to engage and hold the cranked portion, in which position the bar D has nearly, but not quite, reached the dead-centre position. The piece F is held in the position ready for resetting by the weight of the lever H, or alternatively by a flat spring R. The bait lever may be replaced by a tilting platform.
