Abstract

101,760. Mark, W., and Parker, F. J. April 11, 1916. Addition to 4025/15. Animal traps.-Consists in pivoting the tilting platform described in the parent Specification at a point between the pivot of the striker and the rear end of the base, in forming the platform with two arms extending rearwardly and pivoted to the sides of the base, and in providing a hole in the platform through which projects a baithook carried by the base. The tilting platform c has its sides bent downwardly and extended to form arms m which are pivoted at n to the sides of the base a. An aperture l allows the bait-hook k to project through the platform c. When set, the striker d, pivoted at e, rests upon the adjusting-screw j, and the spring h is put under tension by the crank f, which passes under and lifts the platform c until a dead-point is reached, so that the spring is not effective to move the striker. When the crank f is depressed by the weight of an animal on the platform c, the spring h comes into operation to throw over the striker d.
