Abstract

269,222. Meyer, E. G. E. Dec. 3, 1925. Motor spirit of the kind comprising liquid hydrocarbon, ether, and ammonia or other volatile basic material is obtained by mixing the liquid hydrocarbon and the volatile basic material, and thereafter adding the ether. The hydrocarbon is preferably such that 6-25 per cent distils over up to 100‹ C., 30-60 per cent to 150‹ C., 50-98 per cent up to 200‹ C., and 86-100 per cent up to 225-300‹ C. It may comprise a proportion of coal-tar hydrocarbons. A suitable proportion of ether is <1>/19 -<1>/20 part by volume. Specification 262,363 is referred to.
