269,184. Moreau, M. F., and Stevenant, V. L. April 7, 1926, [Convention date]. Mowing-machines.-A driving device for mowing and like machines that is mounted on the tractor hauling the machine comprises 'a shaft B carrying a pulley A driven through a belt from the ordinary auxiliary pulley of the tractor, the shaft being provided with a bevel pinion C driving a bevel pinion D secured to a shaft E carrying a crank disc G having a pin H to which the usual connecting-rod for the knife bar of the mowing machine is connected. The shafts B, E, are mounted in bearings L in an oil-bath casing M that is fastened to the tractor by a coupling plate and a bracket. Fast and loose pulleys A, A<1>, may be provided if the auxiliary pulley of the tractor is not fitted with a clutch.
