Retort and like doors. -A readily attachable clamp for temporary use with gas retort doors comprises a U-shaped structure a with limbs having bent over extremities a' to engage the retort flange c, and screws b adapted to press the door d against its seat. One limb may be secured by a screwed stud a<3> and may be adjustable in a slot a<4>, or the device may be made in similar halvesone of which is adjustable on the other.
