[Class 66] [Also in Group VI and XVIII] A saucepan &c. is. made into a low-pressure cooker by holding down, under adjustable spring- pressure, the lid 8 which may have a rubber sealing band 18. As illustrated, a cover 7 for the lid-handle 9 mounts a pivot for a bar 11 held down by a hooked rod 13 and a spring 15 each engaging lugs on an adjustable band 1 encircling the saucepan. In modifications disclosed in the Provisional Specification, the spring 15 is omitted, the bar 11 being of flat spring-steel; two pairs of springs lie flat on the lid; two lengths of wire are used, each looped as a spring; or a dished piece of steel with a hole for the lid-handle is used.
