Adjusting and lifting parts of; balance weights; draught devices. - Mechanism for lifting and lowering agricultural implements connected to a tractor comprises a lever of variable effective length mounted on the tractor and operated by an eccentric adapted to be actuated through a clutch by the rotation of one of the axles of the tractor, half revolutions of the axle in the same direction being utilized to impart to the lifting- lever alternate movements through a constant angle but in opposite directions. The implement is attached to a vertically movable lever connected for lifting purposes by a chain to a slide block 41 movable along the lifting-lever 39 by a screw. The lever arm 39 is carried by a shaft 36 provided with an arm 26 bearing a counter-weight 42. Apparatus for actuating the lifting lever by hand consists of a screw 20 provided with a crank arm 19 and engaging a nut carrying a pin projecting into a hole in the lever arm 26. The nut moves in a guide 17 on a two-part eccentric 12 mounted on a sleeve fixed to the bearing of the main driving shaft 1 of the tractor. The eccentric 12 may be thrown into driving connection with a tractor wheel keyed to the shaft 1 by means of two spring-controlled clutch bolts 30 mounted in the eccentric and adapted to be pushed by a hand-lever 27 into engagement with a toothed wheel attached to the tractor wheel. As the eccentric rotates it raises the strap 18 and thus rocks the shaft 36 and lowers the implement. The bolt 30 in operation is held in engagement by a fixed flange while the eccentric rotates through 180‹. The other bolt 30 then comes opposite the lever 27 ready to be pushed into operation to raise the implement. The extent of the vertical movement of the implement may be varied by adjusting the block 41 or by rotating the screw 20.
