Abstract
268,429. Holmes & Co., Ltd., W. C., Parker, J., and Henshaw, D. M. Dec. 31, 1925. Drying gases.-Fuel gases are dried by successive treatment, first with liquid absorbents and then with adsorbents such as silica gel which do not liquefy. Carbides may be used, and upon adsorption of moisture, produce gases which increase the calorific value of the fuel gases. The gases may be cooled prior to their treatment with the adsorbent. The treatment may be carried out in packed towers or, alternatively, the treatment with the liquid adsorbent may be effected in a brush-washer. The spent adsorbent may be continuously removed from the tower. Specifi. cations 248,841 and 266,825 are referred to.
