Wearing-apparel, cutting-out.-In a system of drafting the pattern of coats and like garments a base or construction line is employed corresponding to the length of the breast measurement at the base of the scye and the main measurements are obtained with respect to this line. A line 0*1 corresponding to half the breast measurement is taken and extended 2“" to the point *2 to allow for making up. The length 0*2 is bisected at *3 and is also duplicated in the length 0*4 which is set up at right angles to 0*1. The point A for the nape of the neck is the intersection of a circle struck from 0 with radius 0*2* and lines A*4 and A*3 which are at right angles to one another and pass through the points *4 and *3. One inch from A*3 is a line BC. The base of the gorge is defined with the aid of a line BD at right angles to 0*2. AE may be <1>/6th of the length 0*1 and AG may be <1>/3rd of this length. The point F is 1“" from E on the line BD and the angle GFH is a right angle. It is stated in the Specification that in the example illustrated assuming the breast measurement is 38" and the height 5' 8" the unit inches agree in this and in other breast and height measure. With a breast measure of 38" the line 0*1 is 19" and waist is taken as 17", seat 24¢", and length 30¢." for drafting. The front size measurement is taken as two inches less than half 19" viz 7¢" and “" added for point K from J. A perpendicular is erected at K and KM measures <1>/6th of O*1 and KL is “th of this distance. By taking a line from a point 0 which is ¥" from 0 and joining OM the point P or the top of side seam is obtained. Similarly N is determined bv joining M with EE. The points AA. BB, CC, DD. EE. and FF are checking points corresponding to AB, CD, E and F.
