Force-feed lubricating.-A tubular push rod 2 for use in the valve mechanism of an internal-combustion engines serves as a container for a charge of lubricant which is caused to exude through passages 7 in the end bearing member 3 by plungers 12 subjected to the action of springs 10, 11 abutting against a partition plate 9. In a modification, the plate 9 is dispensed with and the springs 10, 11 are replaced by a single spring arranged between the plungers. The passage 7 at the lower end of the rod may be smaller than that at the upper end.
