Abstract

267,618. plumbridge, C. W. Dec. 19, 1925. Mounting and setting gems and the like.- Gems or stones c, Fig. 1, are held in a polished surround a of white metal, gold, platinum, or other metal or alloy by claws d tooled or worked up from the surround so as to result in the formation of a wavy, scalloped, festoon, or equivalent configuration f, which may be milligrained. In the case of a cluster setting Fig. 3, grains g, h hold the stones in their setting. Grains may be provided also at h<1> for this purpose, if desired. The surround around the grains h as well as around grains i tooled up from the surround is ornamented by smaller grains f.
