Abstract

267,530. Huessy, W., (Assignee of Herzog, H., and Buehler, W. Huessy-). March 10, 1926, [Convention date]. Liquid fuel.-A liquid for addition to a motor spirit is obtained by passing the vapour from a heated pressure chamber containing a mixture of aqueous alcohol and kerosene through a catalytic chamber containing molten lead, or lead alloyed with bismuth or cadmium, and condensing the product. In an example, 90 parts of kerosene and 10 parts of 50-95 per cent commercial alcohol are heated to 160‹ C. and passed into a retort at 400-500‹ C. containing lead. 20-50 per cent of petrol or benzene may be added to the product to form motor spirit. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes, also the use of quicklime or mixtures of lead and lime or water-glass and wood charcoal as catalyst, and of benzine in place of benzol. It also states that the kerosenealcohol product alone may be used as a motor spirit or for lighting. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
