Making and waterproofing tiles.-A slab comprises an indurated mixture of asbestos and a binder provided with intersecting scores to simulate tiling and faced with a coating of nitro-cellulose. The cross cuts or kerfs are formed in the slab after it has hardened to avoid non-registration troubles owing to contraction during the hardening process. Fig. 2 illustrates such a tile scored at 6 and coated at 7 with the nitro-cellulose.
