Abstract

266,092. Gill, H., and Pearse, H. Dec. 23,1925. Gratings. - Openwork steel flooring steps and gratings consist of two series of bars, one series only being notched to receive the other bars which are equal in depth to the notches so that an even top surface is produced. The bars are welded together at the joints and may be straight, wavy, corrugated, or of other shape. Fig. 2 shows a construction in which pairs of wavy bars l are welded together at their contacting points m and are slotted at n to receive the cross-bars o. When assembled, each slotted bar l is welded to the adjacent bar and to the frame bars s, which are also slotted to receive the bars o and are welded thereto.
