Abstract

265,968. Bayer, E. C. Feb. 9, 1926, [Convention date]. Porous compositions. - Heat and sound insulating bodies are made by adding to a solution of an organic substance a previously produced foam, or a material which is converted into foam by stirring, or by injection or generation of gas, and the organic substance is converted into a solid by removal of the solvent, or by chemical means. Suitable substances specified are glue, chromegelatine, caseinates, albumens, copper ammonia solutions of cellulose, viscose, and as foam-producing substances are mentioned, organic alkali metal salt solutions, as soap saponines. When the foam is produced in the mass, gas may be generated by adding aluminium and an alkali, or carbonates and an acid. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also the use of vegetable glue, gelatine, and caseinates, as foam-producing substances. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
