Abstract
265,544. Siemens - Schuckertwerke Ges. Feb. 4, 1926, [Convention date]. Cores for cables.-In hollow conductors for overhead lines of the kind comprising two or more layers 2, 3 arranged around a support 1 such as a helical band or worm, the wires of the inner layer are of greater cross-section than those of the outer layer. Preferably the cross-section and thickness of the inner wires are respectively at least twice and one and a half times the corresponding dimensions of the outer wires. The inner wires are preferably of segmental shape to provide mutual support against radial stresses.
