Abstract

265,528. Miller, H. C., and Sumner, G. P. Oct. 30, 1925. Odometers.-Consists in an improvement in the axle-coupling for a hub odometer described in Specification 232,692, the object being to provide for cases in which the diameter of the vehicle axle is greater than the distance between the lugs of the coupling member. The odometer is constructed as described in Specification 265,527, and the coupling comprises a plate 11 secured to the centre spindle 10, and carrying a member 17 having lugs 15 engaging slots in arms 16. The arms 16 are carried by a ring 12 which has dogs 13 for engaging with the vehicle axle in order to prevent rotation of the spindle 10. A spring 14 is arranged between the plates 11, 12 and a thrust bearing 25 is provided as described in Specification 232,692. Specification 265,663 also is referred to.
