Rotary machines; tripping-arrangements. - In a rotary printing-press, both the cylinders are pivotally mounted so that either can be adjusted about its pivot and relatively to the other. As applied to a web-perfecting press, the impression cylinders 11 and plate cylinders 10 are mounted in bearings 153, 156 on brackets 152. 155 respectively, pivoted at 151, 154 to the ings 153, 156 on brackets 152, 155 resmain framing of the machine. Two upward extensions 157 of the main framing are provided with soft metal bushings 158 to receive a screwed spindle 159 engaging threaded holes 161 in lugs on the brackets 152 and passing through plain holes 160 in similar lugs on the brackets 155. The bushings 158 have flanged ends against which the lugs on the brackets 152 are secured by means of the spindle 159 and nuts 162. The pressure between each pair of cylinders 10, 11 can then be adjusted by means of nuts 163 on the spindle 159 situated one on each side of the lug on the bracket 155. In order to eliminate machining of the parts during manufacture, the bearing apertures in the main frame and the brackets 152, 155 are rough cast, and in them are cast bushings of bearing material as described in Specification 237,310 accurately positioned by means of a dummy shaft.
