Abstract

265,081. Forrest, C. N. Aug. 23, 1926. Foundations. - A waterproof coating or damp course for use under a brick or concrete pavement or roadway of a bridge is formed in situ by applying to the surface a layer 3 of hot bitumen or bituminous cement, then a prebituminated but still interstatious openwork fibrous fabric 4 such as a loosely woven textile fabric, and again a layer of hot bitumen 5 which unites with the layer 3 through the fabric. Further layers of fabric and bitumen may be added to make up the thickness desired, and the faeing may be finished with a course of concrete, brick, or tiles.
