Abstract
323,107. Marks, Sir G. C., (Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappij). Dec. 17, 1928. Sea and retaining walls.-The slopes of shores and banks are protected by applying to them a mass of asphalt. The asphalt may be mixed with a large proportion of sand and gravel mixture, or like filler, and preferably also cement. The slope may be built up by pouring the asphalt, or by laying down blocks of it, and grouting the joints; the whole is then covered by a layer of soft asphalt. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 213,659, [Class 22, Cements &c.].
