Soothing . teats. - Relates to infants' soothers of the kind in which a guard 3 of bone, metal &c, is attached to a teat 1 of indiarubber or like material by a metal &c. plug 4 sealing the teat and having an enlarged or flanged inner end 6, the guard 3 being secured between the flange 6 and a beading 2 at the mouth of the teat. and the outer end of the plug 4 having a metal cap or holder 7. According to the invention, the outer end of the plug 4 is formed plain, without a screw thread, and the cap 7 is attached thereto by forming an indentation 12 or by other means. In the construction described, the cap 7 bears against the beading 2 of the teat and has a flange 9 fitting into an annular recess 10 on the guard 3. The end 8 of the cap 7 has a stamped up portion 11 for attachment of the cord. The teat is preferably filled with a fluid or jelly-like substance.
