[Class 81 (ii)] In a rubber or like baby's soothing teat comprising a mouthpiece 2 having a guard at the base end formed by extending the wall of the mouthpiece into a V-shaped flange 3 with a holding device or finger ring on the outer side of the guard, the inner and outer walls of the flange 3 are vulcanised or fixed together by an adhesive to form the guard 6. The ring 9 passes through the hole in a rubber plug 7 which is vulcanised in the open end of the teat or the open end may be extended and the extension 13 split to form two strips which are wrapped around the ring : in this case the - teat is made airtight by a plug inserted at the base of the teat. The mouthpiece and flange maybe moulded .in a former 1 by dipping.
