Abstract

263,259. Wildy, E. L., and London Electric Wire Co. & Smiths, Ltd. Oct. 21, 1925. Transformers. - In electric inductance and transformer coils of the type in which the spaced turns of a coiled wire are supported on spaced strips of insulating material longitudinal of the coil, the strips having transverse holes with which the turns are subsequently engaged means are provided to lock the strips to the coil. Each strip may comprise an outer tubular part c, Fig. 3, and an inner part d with transverse coincident holes e, f to receive the coil a, the part d being slid within the part c and held in the locking position by means of one or more screw-threaded ends g of the part d and nuts h bearing against the ends of the part c. Plugs i tapered to engage sockets on a rotatable holder pass through slots in the part c and holes j in the part d at right angles to the holes f. In a, modification, Fig. 7, the holes e, f, have one side removed to form slots l and grooves m.
