Abstract

245,950. Bombach, C. H., and Brown, F. Jan. 31, 1925. Two-part couplings.-A valve holder comprises a socket 3, Fig. 2, of cross-sectional area greater throughout its length than that of a valve pin 5, and a contact strip 4 of which one portion is located within the socket and spring to press laterally on the pin, and of which another portion extends beyond the socket effecting external connections. The construction may be used for coil plugs or for other parts of wireless apparatus in which a number of pins and sockets are used to effect a connection. The holder consists of a cylindrical core 1 and a cap or cover 2 secured to the core by a central screw 16. The core is formed with radial slots or grooves 8 which constitute the sockets, and within each slot is placed a thin metal strip 4 constituting a spring contact. The strips are of sufficient length to .extend beyond the base of the core 1, the ends 9 being used for effecting connections. Each strip is also formed with shoulders 10, Fig. 5, which lie within a groove in the lower edge of the core 1 and are thus held in place when the holder is assembled. A positioning notch 13 in the cap, and a corresponding projection on the core 1, facilitates correct assembly of the parts. The holes 15 in the cap, which guide the pins, may be circular or of the same shape as the sockets.
