Doors.-A firebox door A having at its lower part .apertures E<1> closed or opened by a grid F sliding in guides F<1> is provided at its rear side with vertical guides J carrying slidably an upwardly curving canopy K. The upper aud lower surfaces K<4>, K<5> of the canopy are curved both longitudinally and transversely, and the rear opening K<3> is arranged over the crown of the fire. A slot F<2> is formed at the central portion of the slidable grid F through which takes a bolt G with a thumb-screw H for locking the grid in any desired position.
