Abstract

260,359. Clough, N. H. July 31, 1925. Thermionic valve circuits. - An oscillatory circuit is controllably damped by a highly resistant inductive winding variably coupled to and rotatably mounted within a coil associated with the oscillatory circuit. The resistant winding may comprise turns of resistance wire connected in series or in parallel to form a closed circuit or circuits or alternatively a split ring in series with a resistance to form a closed circuit. The Figure shows a damping unit J, an aerial primary coil F and a reaction coil E associated with a detector valve, reaction being controlled by adjustment of the damping unit J.
