Abstract

260,308. White, G. April 27, 1925. Wheel stops.-Relates to a runway system for transferring load trollies B from runways on shore to runways in a ship's hold, comprising a section A which is raised and lowered from one set of runways to the other. To retain the trollies on the section A, a stop L is provided which is moved aside automatically when the section A is in register with the upper or lower runway. The stop is connected to a spring-controlled lever I pivoted at K, and is actuated, when the section A registers with the runway E on the quay, by engagement of the plate F with a fixed stop H. When the section A is lowered into the hold, a fixed stop engages a projection L in the lever. The lever may also be actuated by hand-gear attached to the lever I at N. The mechanism may be duplicated at the other end of the section A.
