259,987. Carl, F. Oct. 16, 1925, [Convention date]. Materials, special, for packing discs and rings. -A closure device for bottles &c. comprises a packing consisting substantially of rubber latex with or without one or more filling materials such as talc, kaolin, barium sulphate, asbestos. raw rubber &c. According to one example, 600 parts of rubber latex, 600 parts of talc &c., 50 parts of a 1: 1 gum arabic solution, and 250 parts of water are stirred into a thin liquid mix which may be poured into the closure device and dried in a warm place. Alternatively, sheets from which the packing discs or rings may be cut are formed by kneading together either 150 parts of latex and 250 parts of talc &c. or 200 parts of latex, 80 parts of Hevea Crepe or other raw rubber, and 800 parts of talc &c., the kneaded mass being rolled to produce sheets of the desired thickness. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also comprises the use of felt as a filling material. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
