Microphones ; diaphragms. -The granule chamber 6 is adjustably supported relatively to the diaphragm 9 by centrally arranged means 7, 8, and is separated therefrom by a number of thin rings 10, of paper, parchment or other flexible material, which serve as a packing for the granules and permit the damping of the diaphragm to be varied by adjustment of the threaded shank 7 in the bush 2. The flexible rings 10 have laterally projecting portions 11 to prevent relative rotation. The diaphragm is retained on its seating by a rubber ring 15 held in position by a pressed brass ring 16 which is placed over the. diaphragm and ring before being closed.
