Abstract

320,950. Standard Telephones &. Cables, Ltd., Pocock, L. C., and Blackburn, R. July 28, 1928. Microphones; mouthpieces. - A transmitter mouthpiece is fitted with a solid member having a dome-like outer surface and sound passages formed therein leading to a central passage arranged to direct the sound waves on to the diaphragm. The passages 2 are in the form of slots the total cross-sectional area of which is equal to that of the central passage 3. The latter is fitted with a gauge lining 5 having an outwardly directed rim 6 engaged by sealing washers 7 which make a tight joint with an apertured plate 8 associated with the transmitter 9. In another form the mouthpiece is adapted for a hand set by being inclined. Specification 304,843 is referred to.
