Abstract
259,174. Wired Radio, Inc., (Assignees of Taylor, A. H.). Oct. 2, 1925, [Convention date]. Thermionic generator; piezo-electric crystal units.-The oscillations of a thermionic valve 1 are selectively maintained by electric means at the characteristic frequency of any one of a multiplicity of piezo-electric crystals Q1, Q2. THe crystals are arranged in the grid circuit of the valve in the form of a stack 5 with the adjacent surfaces in intimate contact and metallic plates PI, P2 at opposite ends in contact with the faces of the crystals. The frequency required is selected by a tuned circuit 10 in the anode circuit comprising a variable inductance 14 and a variable condenser 15. The oscillator may be connected directly to an amplifying valve or through a frequency-multiplying circuit.
