Elevated railways; systems.-Cars are shunted or transferred from high-speed suspension railways at auxiliary stations by normal railways or by suspended cars running on different elevated tracks. The high-speed cars b, Fig. 3, run on a track a which may have traversers, &c., and may have additional tracks for inspection cars m. The cars b are received on trucks c' running on ground rails d<1>. To remove the cars b from the track a, the trucks c<1> may have a, lifting-platform g<1> or may run on to a ramp. Where the trucks c<11>, Fig. 5, run on elevated tracks d" they may lift the cars b by a crane g<11> or by running on to a ramp. In a modification, Fig. 8, a travelling crane, h with a trolly i is used to transfer the cars b to trucks k. If the cars b have guide wheels f, Fig. 9, they must be lowered before the transfer takes, place. In the case of a breakdown between stations, the cars may be fitted with auxiliary wheels n.
