Counters actuated by revolving mechanism ; counters giving time indications.-A device for registering the working of a machine is provided with an exchangeable dial whereby the device may be adjusted for different average outputs. The device comprises a time graduated dial, a pointer co-operating therewith, and mechanism operated by the machine for actuating the pointer so as to indicate normal time while the output is equal to the predetermined average. The device may be directly operated by the machine or a clockwork mechanism may be controlled as to starting and stopping by the machine. As shown applied to a loom, Figs. 1 and 2, the picking shaft thereof is connected to a sprocket wheel 3 which through pinions 4, 5 and worm gearing 6, 7, 8 drives a pair of worm wheels 9, 10 loosely mounted on a central pivot pin 18 and provided with different numbers of teeth. A pointer 11 is rigid with the boss of the worm wheel 9 and to the worm wheel 10, which rides on the boss of the wheel 9, is attached a disc 17 carrying a graduated dial 12, Fig. 3. The wheel 10 is arranged to turn one revolution in an hour and the wheel 9 will be one tooth behind for each complete turn. The dial, Fig. 3, is designed for working at an average output which is 80 per cent of the maximum output, the loom being arranged to produce 120 picks per minute. The wheel 4 can be interchanged with other pinions to permit the device being used with machines of different speeds and the dial 12 is exehangeably mounted so that it can be replaced by other dials in accordance with the percentage of efficiency required.
