Abstract

257,743. Saunders, A., Saunders, V., and Saunders, R. Sept. 10, 1925. Lever lids.- A tin or other container having a top flange 2 comprising a depending wall 5 inturned to form a bed 3, the free edge of which constitutes the mouth of the container, is closed by a ' lever lid ' of double tier form of which the upper tier includes an horizontal flange 9 adapted to co-operate with the bed 3 to form a seal and the lower tier fits in the mouth of the container and is secured therein by expounding its base 11 under the bed to form a second seal. A packing ring 12 may be disposed between the flange 9 and bed 3.
