Yielding-drive attachments; chucks. - In a yielding-drive holder for drills and similar tools the drill 2, Fig. 1, is held in a socket 3 having a flange 4 containing key-hole slots 17 for detachable engagement with screws 15 on a, bush 5. The bush is rotatable within a hollow shank 1 and is retained axially by a ball 20 inserted through a hole closed by a screw 21. A sleeve 9, slidably keyed at 10 to the shank, is provided with inclined clutch teeth 8 engaging similar teeth 7 on the bush, the clutch being yieldably maintained in the driving position by a spring 11 which abuts against a collar 12 adjustably secured on the shank and locked by a nut 13. In a modification the spring 11<1>, Fig. 3, is enclosed in a casing 23 adjustable by a screw-thread 22 on the shank 1<1>, and the clutch teeth 8' on the slidably keyed sleeve 9<1> engage teeth 7<1> on a bush 6<1> connected to a drill-chuck 25. The chuck has a pair of opposed jaws which are moved radially through their connection with a spindle 24 having right and left hand screw threads and a square head.
