Abstract

257,283. Siemens - Schuckertwerke Ges. Aug. 21, 1925, [Convention date]. Gases., electrically precipitating suspended particles from.-Dust-collecting electrodes are freed from deposits by movements of flexible surfaces caused by variations of pressure in the gas being treated. The flexible surfaces may constitute the external wall of the precipitating chamber, in which case they either serve as the collecting electrodes or are mechanically connected thereto. Alternatively, collecting electrodes suspended in the precipitating-chamber consist of thin-walled vessels which may be evacuated. Accidental variations of gas pressure may be relied on. or variations may be produced artificially, preferably at such a frequency that resonant vibration of the flexible, surfaces occurs.
