256,706. Johnston, J. M. T. May 14, 1925. Stationary mixers with rotary stirrers.-In mixing apparatus for sand and other road-making material and molten bitumen, of the kind comprising a chamber heated by flue gases and provided with a conical bottom and stirrers mounted on a vertical shaft, the flue gases are led to an uptake at the side of the chamber. The chamber 3. in which the conical bottom 9 forms a partition, is mounted on cross members 4, and the flue gases are led to the lower side by a pipe 25, thence to the uptake 27.
