Abstract

255,736. Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik, Wolf, A., and Bauer, E. Jan. 25, 1926. Shields. - Perforated screens 2, 3 of insulating material arranged between the anodes 6 and an article 7 connected as cathode are provided with perforations 4 arranged to allow uniform plating of the article as a whole and perforations 4<1> more closely arranged or of greater individual size than the first to allow thickening of special parts 9. Alternatively, the material of the screen may be wholly removed opposite the parts to be thickened. The size and distribution of the perforations may be arranged so as to produce a deposit of continuously-variable thickness. A cylindrical article to be plated may be enclosed within a cylindrical perforated screen.
