Abstract

Emulsions, making.-Water is added at ordinary temperatures to bituminous material dissolved in oil or containing natural oil, and the mixture is agitated until there is obtained a paste-like emulsion in which the water is the disperse phase. A small quantity of emulsifying agent or an emulsion of bitumen in water mav be added before the addition of the water. In particular, pitch dissolved in tar-oil may be treated. The emulsions may be used in the treatment of roads, buildings, &c. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers to the emulsification of water in natural or artificial resins. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
