Abstract

254,823. Clark, J., and Cooper, A. R. April 22, 1925. Axle stops comprise an inclined raking element 12 terminating in positive stops 13 integral with or rigidly secured to the element 12 which may be displaced against the action of a spring 11. The element 12 comprises a pair of T-bars with webs secured to a block 9 sliding on a rod 5 pivoted to brackets 4. The spring 11 engages the block 9 and a plate 7 raised by a roller on an arm 17 actuated by a rod 21 connected to the piston of a fluid-pressure motor. The rod 5 may be of square or polygonal cross-section to prevent twisting or distortion of the element 12.
