Abstract
254,672. Soc. Anon. Parsolazur. July 3, 1925, [Convention date]. Anti-dazzle screens.-An anti-dazzle screen for the protection of vehicle drivers comprises a sheet 5 of glass, preferably coloured or painted blue, mounted in a three-sided frame formed of two side members 2 and an horizontal transverse member 3, the frame being secured in an inclined position on a pair of suitably shaped brackets disposed at opposite sides of the vehicle and means being provided to prevent access of rainwater to the interior of the frame. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 2, in which the antidazzle screen is mounted in front of the front window of a closed vehicle body, the brackets 1 are attached to any convenient part of the coach-work, and an angle-iron 6 prevents rain from passing over the frame member 3 and run. ning down the window. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 4, the brackets 7 are shaped to engage the wind-screen pillars 8 and are supported at their forward edges by stays 10, while entrance of rain to the interior of the frame is prevented by a flexible rubber or like strip 11 bearing against the wind-screen and by a channel member 13 mounted on the frame member 3 to divert rain blown up the outer surface of the screen 5. In each construction, the frame members 2, 3 are of channel section, and the webs of the members 2 at their forward edges 4 are bent inwardly against the side flanges to close in the side channels and assist in retaining the screen within the frame.
