Railway locomotives internal-combustion, engine.-The engine A drives the front axle D through bevel reversing gear and two-speed spur gearing, the same speeds being available in both directions. The gearing is controlled by a single lever movable transversely of the vehicle, and the driver faces sideways so that he can look along the track either way.
