Wheels, arrangement of.-In road vehicles provided with an alternative means of travel on endless-tracks or rail wheels, the road wheels are carried on pivoted arms which can be lowered or raised to bring the wheels into or out of use. The invention is shown applied to a, vehicle having endless tracks 1 and road wheels 2, 3. The wheels are carried on arms 10, 35 pivoted respectively on shafts 12, 38 which can be rotated through chain and other gearing by a transverse shaft 24 driven through a double clutch 18 either from crank-handle 21 or from the propelling engine 4 through an hydraulic or other variable-speed gear 16. The road wheels are locked in their lower positions by catches.
