Abstract

253,185. Mitchell, H. C. March 9, 1925. Ornamenting. - A method of decoration, ornamentation, or painting consists in the employment of rubber &c. printing- stamps formed with shallow cavities d therein, between which recesses or pockets a are formed, colour or paint being applied to the stamp by pressure on a surface covered with the paint. The effect prcduced is shown in Fig. 1<c> wherein the lines a<1> are formed by the recesses a and the impressions d<1> by the shallow cavities d. Variation of pressure may be used to take up or deposit varying amounts of paint &c. Different sets of stamps may be provided for representing different parts of an object such as a branch with flowers or leaves. The paint &c. may have varnish incorporated therein.
